Coffee & Health updates website with new features

The Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee (ISIC) has updated its Coffee & Health website, giving users easier access to the latest information, research and resources on coffee, caffeine and health.

New features include:

  • The research centre has been updated to allow users to view the latest research abstracts by topic, as well as by date. Users are able to switch between these two options, click here to view the latest research abstracts on coffee and health.
  • A new subscribe button has been added to the homepage, allowing users to sign up to updates from ISIC, including news alerts and the quarterly news bulletin. To sign up for these, please click here

New research reveals a potential mechanism for how coffee may reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes

A new study published in Clinical Nutrition and funded by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee (ISIC) has found that coffee consumption may help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D), mediated by differences in inflammatory biomarkers in the body. The research assessed the underlying mechanisms by which coffee consumption may help to reduce T2D risk, with an additional cup of coffee per day being associated with a 4-6% lower risk.
